Mid Cape 50s League

Attention: All players excluding goalies(see below) must be 50 years old in the 2024 calendar year. Any player that turns 50 in 2025 may join the league. 

 

Goalies- we encourage goalies to be 50+, but the age rule is relaxed and flexible 

 

Game Format

1-Hour of Ice time- 2-25 minute halves( do not switch end)

2- minute warm- up

1- minute half time

No overtime/timeouts regular season 

If within 2 goals last 2 minutes stop time

 

No running time mercy rule. (We all show up to play as much hockey as we can in one hour)

 

Penalties (stop time)

Minor penalties will be 1-minute and 30- seconds.

Major penalty 4 minutes 

Misconduct- game ejection  

Zero tolerance abuse of officials 

 

General Rules

Blue line Icing automatic icing

Icing mistake center ice faceoff

Slap shots allowed

No Check

 

Forfeits- A team will be allowed to play with a goalie and 5 skaters. The league encourages each team to help other teams with players if shorthanded on numbers. If forfeit, Ice can be used for scrimmage.
